Two of the more common services we provide are in tracing a missing person, or tracking a vehicle with a GPS device. Much rarer is the tracing of a missing vehicle. However, the life of a private investigator can be varied, and that was the case with a recent news story. A Lamborghini that had been stolen in Switzerland and driven to the UK was found by a private investigator – who was looking for another stolen car.
The car had been hired for a business meeting, but wasn’t returned on schedule. It was instead driven 600 miles to London where it was discovered in a shipping container, about to be sent to Africa.
When you own a supercar like a Lamborghini, it’s worth having your own GPS tracker device attached to it. Something that’s so valuable is worth the investment to protect it. But in this case, the tracker only traced it to London before it was disabled. It just happened to be luck that the investigator found the stolen Audi they were looking for, and recognised the Lamborghini.
However it’s not just Italian supercars that have high value to clients. It may sometimes be a laptop that has sensitive data or treasured memories saved on the hard drive, or perhaps a piece of art. In the case of one private investigator in the Netherlands, they may specialise in finding art.
If you ever lose anything that’s a high value, it’s worth finding out whether we can help. If something precious to you has been stolen and you don’t think the police can help, or if something vital has just gone missing, speak to us and we’ll determine whether there’s a chance we’ll be able to help.
